Below are the important steps you need to know as we embark on this epic journey of fundraising for Your Troop
Be an Active Troop in good standing with Trail Life USA
Will Your Troop will be placing a order of a set amount of cases based off a set budget or getting quantity commitments from members a head of time and ordering that quantity
Identify which blend or blends of Trail Mix you want to sell in your fundraiser. Keep in mind that all blends are sold by 30 lbs cases with 30 - 16oz individual bags inside
Once the purchase is completed, We will contact You to request the desired photo that Your troop wants to use on the product. If You order 2 or more blends, We will need 2 or more photos. Photo are preferred in landscape format and should be at least 2Mb in size.
At this point in the program, Trail Mix 4 Troops will begin designing labels for your products. A proof for the Troops approval will be provided before final printing begins. Once Approved, design will be sent to the printer for final processing.
Please allow 2-3 weeks from time of ordering to receiving products. These times can however run longer if there are vendor supply chain delays. You will be notified if delays occur.
Be prepared to receive 2 shipments.
First shipment will be your cases of trail mix. All trail mix comes clear and sealed packaging. Be careful when opening case with a knife, cases are very full. The manufacture will supply you with the back labels and they should be on rolls in the cases.
Second Shipment will be your custom labels. If ordering multiple blends be careful to put the right label on the right blend. Please note you will receive extra labels in each shipment just in case you need them.
The time has come to roll up the sleeves and put in some service hours. Since the trail mix and labels come separate you will need to add the labels to your products. This process allows the Adventures, Navigators and Parent to get involved with the process and get excited about the fundraiser. In turn it allows us to keep the price as low as possible, which is more profit for the Troop.
There are many strategies to selling Trail Mix. Of course we all know we can go to friends, family, neighbors or churches to find people that would love to support your Troop. While that is fully acceptable, we would encourage You to reach out to your local Home Depots, Walgreens, Tractor Supply or other high traffic retailers and ask permission to sell in front of the store. Remember the idea is to get out and impact the greater community not just your immediate circle.
Each bag is roughly $6 finished cost after trail mix, custom labeling and S&H. Each bag sells for $15 retail creating a profit margin of $9 per bag. That's an amazing 150% profit per bag.
Easy to see how this fundraiser can really create great opportunities to raise funds as well getting the boys in to the community and the Trail Life USA Brand into the hands of customers or perhaps future members.
